Introducing Griffin “The Ripper” Kelleher! Griffin first started riding BMX about 9 years ago. “I always liked riding bikes around my neighborhood,” he remembers, “And one day we went up to the track and I haven’t stopped since!”. Griffin joined the J&R National Team for the 2022 season and says his favorite part of competing in BMX is, “Just how fun it is and the adrenaline rush while on the track.” He also says for him, the mind game is the most challenging part of BMX. “Definitely trying not to overthink and be down on yourself is the biggest challenge,” he says.
Griffin’s favorite track to ride is EHT BMX in New Jersey, “Because of how technical and fun the straights are.” And he often gains inspiration and motivation from his favorite Pro rider. “My favorite pro is Rico Bearman because he is so smooth and fast,” he says. Griffin has had plenty of wins in his 9 years of BMX but says the accomplishment on the track he is most proud of is, “Getting national 22 in 2022 and NAG 3.” At the time of this interview in the beginning of the year, Griffin was most looking forward to kicking off the 2024 season. “One race I’m really looking forward to is the season opener at Sarasota,” he explained, “I’m excited about this race because I get so see the whole team and to race.”
We look forward to seeing you up on the podium, Griffin! Best of luck from the whole J&R Family!
