A little bit about us

J&R Bicycles has been around since the late 70's but wasn't a major player in the world of BMX until the Morrison family purchased it in 1990. Since then J&R has traveled over a million miles to BMX races across the country. With our website (www.www.jrbicyclesshop.com) J&R BMX has grown into the largest BMX only store in the world.

J&R Bicycles is where riders go for the very best BMX bikes and BMX parts. Since 1990 every top brand has been stocked and displayed in the world's largest BMX showroom. And even if you're not located in Florida, that's OK because the J&R warehouse offers fast and efficient worldwide shipping.

Leading BMX bike brands for racing like Redline, Haro, GT, DK, Chase and Speedco are always fully stocked. While BMX bike brands for freestyle riding such as Subrosa, Kink, Sunday, Fit, Verde and We the People are available at all times as well. Plus a full selection of BMX parts, gear and accessories from Troy Lee Designs, Fox, Fly, Shimano and others are offered in all sizes and colors.

Riders represent J&R Bicycles in most states across the U.S. as well as many countries including Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand and several other South and Central American locales. More riders, teams and tracks are joining the J&R Support Program every year.

International Awareness

J&R Bicycles currently ships to over 40 countries and is expanding to more destinations around the world as new BMX programs are being created.

Domestic Foothold

More than any other BMX retailer, J&R Bicycles currently vends trackside at 15-20 national events a year as well as the Florida State series.

Now And Before

1984

The Beginning

Kirk starts racing BMX with his younger brother, Scott.

1985

New Horizons

Kirk is asked to join the J&R Bicycles shop team as a rider.

1990

Big Step

Morrison family buys JR Bicycles, a 2000 sq. ft family bike store selling all types of bikes from road racers to 3 wheel trykes.

2006

Getting Focused

J&R Bicycles becomes BMX ONLY and moves into a 7,500 sq. ft space, with Kirk leading the expansion as CEO.

2009

Growing Pains

J&R Bicycles adds 4,500 sq. ft of additional warehouse space and grows their online business to include all of the top BMX brands.

2011

Changing Hands

Kirk buys J&R Bicycles from his parents and becomes the sole owner. The company sees significant growth, especially with international sales, under the new ownership.

2015

Technical Revolution

J&R Bicycles launches a new website that sets a higher benchmark across the entire BMX industry. The improved system not only features a first-of-its-kind custom wheel building app, but also includes a series of forms and auto response tools that aid in growing the track and team support outreach effort to include several hundred groups around the world and counting.

2019

Another Technical Revolution

J&R Bicycles launches an improved website and inventory management system, along with several layers of behind the scenes support tools that allow us to offer the best level of customer service to date. If that wasn’t enough for one year, J&R also rebrands to commemorate their 30th anniversary.

2023

Post Covid Changes

Covid changed everything for everyone for a good long while. Every business on the planet had to rethink how they do almost everything. And then as quickly as Covid struck, it faded out of the nightly news cycle leaving behind a completely revised landscape for how we live, learn and shop. Now we're making even more changes to make sure we can give our guests what they most want when it comes to personalized customer care and a quality online experience.
